Rahway, New Jersey is a transit village and is easily accessible by car, rail, and bus.   

Public Transportation

By Train:NJ TRANSIT trains on the Northeast Corridor line and North Jersey Coast line stop at Rahway Station.   

By Bus: NJ TRANSIT Bus Route 115 (Rahway to New York) and Bus Route 48 (Elizabeth to Perth Amboy) serve Rahway.  

From Newark Liberty International Airport: Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) is approximately 15 miles from Rahway. Travelers may use the AirTrain to connect to the NJ TRANSIT train station at Liberty International Airport, then take the Northeast Corridor line or North Jersey Coast line to Rahway.

Parking

Municipal Lots 
A tiered parking garage on Lewis Street is near many of Rahway’s downtown restaurants and retail shops. The parking deck is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. 

Parking is also available in the Hamilton Street parking lot. The lot is next door to UCPAC’s Hamilton Stage, and just a block from the UCPAC Main Stage. 

Free parking is also available to the public after 7:00 PM on weekdays and on weekends: 
Broad Street (“F Lot”) 
West Milton Avenue (“H Lot”)

Street Parking 
Most streets in downtown Rahway have metered parking.   

The first 30 minutes are complimentary; however, users MUST input their license plate and information into the pay machines or ParkMobile app to register for the free 30 minutes. These pay stations accept coins or credit/debit card payments. Payment can also be made using the ParkMobile app.

Traveling North or South on the Garden State Parkway.

  3. Turn left onto Route 27.
  4. At the light, make a slight left to stay onto St Georges Ave.
  5. Turn right onto West Milton Ave.
  6. Turn left onto Main Street to enter downtown Rahway.
Traveling North on Routes 1 & 9.
  1. Take the U and Left Turns exit for East Milton Ave.
  2. Turn right onto East Milton Ave.
  3. Turn right onto Main Street to enter downtown Rahway.
Traveling South on Routes 1 & 9.
  1. Make a right onto East Milton Ave.  
  2. Turn right onto Main Street to enter downtown Rahway.
Traveling South on the New Jersey Turnpike (Option 1).
  1. Take exit 12 for Carteret. 
  2. Keep right at the fork, continue toward Roosevelt Ave. 
  3. Merge onto Roosevelt Ave. 
  4. Continue onto Randolph Ave. 
  5. Turn right onto Hart St.
  6. Turn Left onto E Hazelwood Ave 
  7. Turn right onto Main Street to enter downtown Rahway. 
Traveling South on the New Jersey Turnpike (Option 2).
  1. Take exit 13 for I-278 West. 
  2. Follow signs for US 1 South/ US 9 South. 
  3. Merge onto Edgar Road (Routes 1 & 9). 
  4. Make a right onto West Milton Ave. 
  5. Turn right onto Main Street to enter downtown Rahway.
