Forks were revved up! Foodies from all over the tri-state region gathered for the annual Rahway Taste of Spring on April 11th. The event proved popular with tickets selling out within 10 days on Eventbrite. An impressive 75% of restaurants participating were Rahway local, with 25% our neighboring union county restaurants, bakeries, and breweries. Newcomers are Agapi Greek Restaurant, Uncle Rudy’s Bar & Grill, Delicias Restaurant, Bull N Bear Brewery and Cypress Brewing. The main tasting area holds not only food, but Witty’s tastings and a DJ spinning a variety of dance tunes. A craft beer tent offering up five craft breweries, live classic rock, pizza, and food truck fare and lastly, a cool live jazz band tent with coffee, tea, juices, and Tito tastings. The judges voiced the winner of the Best of Taste as QUILLA by Sabor Peruano who won with their delicious mussels. QUILLA also won in two other categories! Taste-Off Competition judges choose winners in nine categories, look for the coveted Taste of Spring awards on display at the businesses. Competing at a tasting event takes dedication, planning, and hard work.
